The Palm Centro from Sprint

Palm and Sprint today announced the mid-october avalibility of the Palm Centro on the Sprint network. Some features include:
-$99.99 price point
-microSD expansion card
-runs on the Ev-Do high speed network, it’s “not an EDGE phone”
-will have exchange support for push email
-has aol/windows live/yahoo I’m support
-exclusive to Sprint
-availible in 2 colors, red and black

Some other facts:
-1 billion phones will be sold this year around the world, 157 million in the US alone. 8 million of those will be smartphones.
-56 percent growth is expexted over the next 3 years in this arena.

Something coming from Palm tomorrow

I just got word that Palm is holding a press conference tomorrow morning.  I’m looking forward to hear what they will be announcing!!!
