Vacation here we come!

Today officially ends my 4th week at my new job.  The past 4 weeks have felt like 4 months, but it has been great so far!  Courtney and I are headed on vacation for the next 9 days starting tomorrow and boy are we excited!  We are headed to Wisconsin (Door County) tomorrow and will spend 4 days there.  After that, the rest of the time will be spent in Minnesota.  It will be great to spend time with family since we rarely get the opportunity.  I will be sure to take lots of photos and have them posted as soon as possible.

Oh yeah, happy Labor Day everyone!

This week on msmobiles.com podcast

This week on the msmobiles.com podcast, we spoke about the latest Windows Mobile news and some of the other shows that I listen to!  Hop over to the msmobiles.com page to check it out!

Re: Skype

Really Skype, 2 days to get things going again?  I know the service is new and revolutionary and free, but really, 2 days?

The annoucement Monday of what happened better be something like:

“Our servers were flooded out because we accidentally opened the roof to the compound and the mechanism broke and it started to rain and so everything went down.”

I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.

Impressed by Sling Media

I don’t think I ever commented about it, but I was impressed with a recent interaction I had with Sling Media. After moving to our new house in late-June, I had some issues with my Slingbox Pro not connecting to my home network. I thought it was because of the reset that I had done to my router, but after going through the steps stated by Sling to get their product reset, I was still having issues with it.

I contacted Sling multiple times, but had problems getting the issue resolved. Then, I was telling Dave Ciccone about my issues and he put me in touch with one of his contacts within the Sling corporation. I immediately was contacted by multiple supervisors within Sling that wanted to help me resolve the issue immediately. I sent in by box to them and within days had a new one back that has been working perfectly ever since.

I also ended up buying the HD adapter so I can watch my HD and DVR programming anywhere and it works great. Also, the slinglink powerline adapter was something that I was hesitent about getting, but it works very well also. I’m even able to plug in a switch to it to attach multiple devices through it to get back to my home network.

My impressions of Sling have been boosted even more over the last few weeks with their products and support. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a solution to stream their television programming!
