Welcome the Palm Treo 700wx
After months of frustration and 6 Motorola Q phones later, I made the switch and am now using the Palm Treo 700wx. I’ve only had it now for about 6 hours and haven’t had much time to play with it yet, but it seems to be great so far! I have noticed that it is very snappy and the overall experience is much better than the Q. I’m going to give more of my impressions of the phone after I have had time to use it and can really say I know what I am working with.
On a side note, I have to give credit to Verizon on this one. I have had so many issues with the Q’s that I have used over the past few months, that I never thought I would get out of my problems. Well, I was working with one of the retail managers named Patrick today and he was absolutely fantastic. He treated me like I was the only customer he had, and I honestly can tell you I have never had better service. He sat down with me and actually understood my issue, and told me that it was unacceptable for his company to have treated me the way they did. After just 5 minutes, he said, what can I do to make it right. He offered me a new Q (not refurbished) and when I hesitated, he instantly pulled out the 700p, 700wx, vx6700 and Blackberry 8703 for me to choose from. I told him I didn’t want a “handout” from him, so we settled on a trade. I gave him my Q and in return, he took the FULL retail price off of the 700wx. Completely unexpected and impressed.
I feel that Motorola made a great attempt to keep my business, and I value the contact I had with them on my issues. I am planning on still working with them if they would like my help/input, but it was too little, too late.
I’m looking forward to some time with my new device, learning what it means to get back into the Pocket PC version of Windows Mobile after being a smartphone user for 10 months.
