Motorola Q #6 is activated!
So the Q that I received yesterday in the mail is now officially activated. I have spent the last hour getting it all set up and the information transferred over, and so far so good. One thing that I have noticed in going through each of these units is that there really never seems to be a resolution that is satisfactory. I hate to say it, but I feel like I am settling. I have already had the messaging application crash once, as well as the camera. Sigh, I don’t know what to tell you, I just can’t seem to win with this!
I’m going to give this one some time. Maybe it will perform a bit more stable than the prior ones…
Saturday Morning hike!
Courtney and I went out for a hike this morning after I recorded The Cell Phone Junkie. We went up a hill called Shaw Butte. Here is a photo of the view about half way up, it was fantastic! I will be sure to post additional photos in the gallery when I get a chance.

A nice Friday golfing!
I spent my Friday afternoon out on the golf course this week. It was a nice break from my second week at my new location. I was happy to spend it with my boss, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather!

I now pronounce you…
A little humor to what I feel is becoming a bit too serious of a blog. I love Kevin James, so I really would like to see this new movie he’s got coming out!
Sigh…the saga continues
Wow, that’s about all I can say. I received Motorola Q number 5 today in the mail and what did I notice, there were noticeable scratches on side and the middle button felt like a marshmallow again! These refurbished Q’s that Verizon keeps sending me are just not cutting it. I have requested that the hardware of the device be inspected prior to number 6 being sent out to me. Yes, they are going to send another refurbished one.
Impressed by Motorola!
I was on the latest Mobility Today Live Show, this past weekend and talked about my struggles with my Motorola Q. At the end of my “rant”, Dave Ciccone mentioned “I hope Motorola listens to this show”. Well guess what, they did.
I received a voicemail this afternoon from a member of Motorola’s team. I called them back and we spoke for about 25 minutes. I went through a number of my initial concerns and complaints about the device, and he assured me that we would be in touch. I don’t have a lot of details to go into at this point, but I have to say that because of Dave and Mobility Today, I am going to get some attention about my problem!
The fact that I got a personal phone call from them is unbelievably impressive. I appreciate the contact from Motorola, and I look forward to working with them going forward!
Thanks Moto!!!

My unlucky streak continues…#5 on the way!
So after a few days and not getting my new phone from Fed Ex on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday from Fed Ex, I took matters into my own hands and got my butt in my car and drove down to the Fed Ex package pickup location to get it. Well guess what, they had it! I was very excited and was happy to have the 4th Q, hopefully the last one I would need to get.
I got it home and guess what I found, the center button in the middle of the 4-way keypad wasn’t working! It was like it was permanently pressed down and was essentially not functional! I was very very mad! I called Verizon and got the same response, “we’ll send you another one.” I’m sorry, but this is getting ridiculous. This is going to be my 5th, yes 5th Motorola Q. When will Verizon and Motorola own up to the fact that I am in the lemon category. I am less that happy with both companies at this point.
Grrr…….
Angels Vs. Rockies
Another great afternoon at the ballpark. We went to Tempe Diablo stadium and watched the Rockies crush the Angels today. Tons of fun as always!

Come on Fed Ex!
I am waiting for my 4th Q to get here, and I have to say it seems to be the fault of Fed Ex that it isn’t here yet. I ordered the phone Monday and they attempted delivery Wednesday. I wasn’t home so they left the door tag for me to sign. Once I got home yesterday, I figured the phone would be waiting at the doorstep. Nope, they hadn’t come…
My hope is that they get their act together and get it delivered today!
