Free stuff!
One of the things I mentioned on the TCPJ show yesterday was that Verizon was giving away a free ringtone today to anyone that did this. One of the reasons that I bring this up is that I love when the cellular providers give away free stuff to thier subscribers. I mentioned yesterday that I didn’t think it was going to be whatever rintone you wanted, but I was wrong. I have to eat a little crow today and give credit to Verizon for doing something pretty nice to thier customers this New Year. Now, if they could just allow smartphone users to get access to Get It Now!!!

What a great 2006…
While 2006 still isn’t officially over, I was reminicing today about all the things that have come and gone in the past 12 months for me. Some of the things that stand out for me personally are the celebration of my first wedding anniversary, my involvement in online podcasting which included my first website, and most recently, a new job that has be in an acting capacity for the role I some day aspire to reach. One of the things that really keeps me going is my wonderful wife. She has been the one that keeps me going day in and day out, and really is the driving force behind my life. I don’t know how I would have made it through some of the nights that I’ve had in the past year without her. For those out there that are married, you know where I am coming from. Having someone that cares about you, loves you and makes you smile every day is really what life is all about.
So here is to a great 2006 and looking forward to a wonderful 2007!
Follow-up from yesterday’s post
As a follow-up from the post yesterday about Mobility Today, I wanted to bring up why the site is so great. Dave actually took the time to write his own blog post on his personal blog called This is why I run Mobility Today. I want to keep this short, but it needs to be said. We are all people that lead very different lives, but share mobile technology as a passion. We help the online community, and share experiences with each other that allow us to better ourselves with not only knowledge, but as people. I couldn’t ask for anything more!
Let me tell you about a great little site I know!
For the past 15 months or so, I have been able to be a part of one of the best online communities on the net, Mobility Today.com. I first found the site back in the fall of 2005 when I spent time researching some things for my HP ipaq 3115 and at the time, it was known as Dave’s Ipaq. Over time, I grew to love the Windows Mobile platform and even spent helping out answering questions from those in the forums.
In the summer of this year, David Ciccone, the site’s owner and administrator, asked me to be one of his moderators and I graciously accepted. After a few months of helping out, Dave asked me if I would be a part of the weekly podcast that he produced with his friend and co-host, Steve. Let me tell you, I was thrilled! I had never done any sort of recording or radio work before, but it sounded like fun! After doing a few of the shows with Dave and Steve, I realized that I too wanted to be part of the podcasting community and that is when in July I started the site and show The Cell Phone Junkie.
The reason I mention all of this is that I want to commend and recognize Dave, Steve and all of the other moderators and members of the Mobility Today community for what they have brought into my life. I have to personally thank Dave for everything that he has done for me thus far. You will not find a more kind, caring person than Dave out there. My hope is that through the coming days, weeks, months and years, I can help give back to the Mobility Today community half as much as it has given to me.
Here’s to a great 2007!
What a day!
I mentioned it yesterday in a post and I will reiterate it again. I honestly don’t mean to rub it in anyone’s face, but boy is it a nice day out! We are experiencing some absolutely beautiful day today and with temperatures in the low 70’s, it reminds me of why I love living here!
The one downside to this great weather is that I am at work today, and so my time outside is severely limited. I can hear your cry’s of pity now…Just kidding, have a great week to everyone!
It never seems quite right…
Today was officially the 6th Christmas I have spent in Arizona and it never seems to be quite the same. No snow, no cold, none of the regular Christmassy stuff that you find in places like the midwest. The high temperature today was somewhere around 74 degrees and sunny. I can’t really complain too much about it, and once tomorrow rolls around, I will be more than happy. It is just one of those strange things for me that I can wear a t-shirt and flip flops on Christmas day!
Welcome to www.mickeypapillon.com
This site is dedicated to the personal side of The Cell Phone Junkie, me! The show TCPJ has been a great experience for me and has been a lot of fun to get started into the world of blogging, podcasting and internet communities. Please post any comments or questions that you may have for me and I will be sure to answer them! Thanks and welcome!
Toys galore!
What are some of the things that The Cell Phone Junkie gets for Christmas? Well, this year my gift from my beautiful wife was a 21 inch widescreen flat panel LCD monitor from HP. I had been wanting something bigger and better, and this one is perfect. The model is the HP f2105 and it is simply great. I like having a lot of screen room for various things that I do, but especially for doing the podcasts with all of the information that we are talking about, it is great. I also am really excited because it adds 2 additional USB ports to the desktop, and makes it great for plugging in things on the fly.
This Christmas has also brought multiple Best Buy gift certificates that are just burning a hole in my pocket now. I am trying to decide what would be best to get with them…not sure yet.
Again, happy holidays everyone!
Parking…
This may be, unfortunately, how I park…
